Late candidate registration and certification appeals
31 March 2010
Any appeal for late registration and certification has to be referred to the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation, Ofqual, who will make the decision to either accept or reject late candidate registrations and certifications. We would advise that all your candidates are registered and certificated in line with the relevant qualifications end registration and certification dates to avoid any possibility that the candidates will be disadvantaged. For certification this will include the independent assessment method of the Prometric health and safety test or the CAA independent assessment method procedure.
In the event that you do need to raise an appeal you will need to provide the following information;
- Dated evidence of the candidates registration
- Evidence of the candidates achievement of the full qualification
- Evidence where necessary as to why the candidate wasn’t registered/certificated prior to the end registration/certification date
- Details of the action taken to prevent any future occurrences of late registration
If your appeal is not accepted by Ofqual, the candidate will need to be registered onto the current version of the qualification, and any assessed evidence will need to be re-assessed against the current standards.
Candidate appeals should be submitted in writing either by emailing the quality assurance team at quality.assurance@cskills.org, or by posting to the CAA postal address.
