There must be a legitimate reason to cancel QA Visits

Meeting Face to Face

22 August 2008

We aim to ensure that you have adequate time to prepare for each Quality Assurance (QA) visit. Each of your QA visits are pre-booked during the preceding visit and confirmed with you before your quality advisor leaves. This next meeting is then documented on your visit report form allowing you adequate time to prepare.

30 days prior to your visit you will receive a letter to confirm the date and time; and with 14 days to go you will receive an email containing your visit planning form which shows the scope of the visit together with the centre staff required to attend.

You have asked us for guidance on cancelling a pre-booked quality assurance visit.  Should you wish to cancel a visit you should contact the Quality Assurance team by emailing quality.assurance@cskills.org.  However, you should be aware that the visit process adheres to the NVQ Code of Practice 2006 and paragraph 62 states: ‘If a centre cancels a pre-arranged external verification visit at short notice, the awarding body must be satisfied that there was a legitimate reason to do so. If this cannot be established, the awarding body will reserve the right to withhold certification claims until a monitoring visit is complete.’
